Color script comparisons - after 4/7/11 review

Please keep this post as the following:
Try to keep the scripts in order, and keep a line of text at the bottom and top.
When updating the script, remove, and replace, update your work as you go. :)
Keep a space between each one, so that you can place between if need be.

(Keep a line of text at the bottom, so that you can add stuff beneath if necessary.)
Feedback please. :)

Color Script additions scenes 5-10

Not crazy about this one, working on it some more.

There's a image from Scene 9 as well on my computer at class, and a few others i'm touching up, but I wanted to post a few of what i think are key scenes.  I have more for earlier scenes if need be too.

Melissa's:

Ok, I'll keep updating the 5th scene as I go, couldn't get it to put mine above the other's though. :(
Feedback please. :)

Color Script comparison

Melissa's scripts: (as of 3/31/11) - updated 4/6/11 (updating as I go)

Cade, can you add what you have to this, so that we can compare the transition over the whole short, so we can tell what to fix?  Thanks. :)

Latest color scripts

I think the first two are pretty good, but I've not been able to get anywhere with the 3rd.  It feels much too flat.
I'll probably jump ahead and work on the 4th for now.

Feedback please.

Lou Romano - "Up" color scripts

Just to make things easier, I've been trying to look at these more and more.  I thought it convenient to have a link. :)

More color script tests

Ok, I gave them some depth of field, but I didn't do much with the color.  I should've uploaded these yesterday... ^^;

(Left) I tweaked it some, from what I had at the end of class.
(Right) Further refined today (3/2/10)

--

I'm tweaking scene 2 (below), but I need more renders from Daniel.  I emailed him last night and am waiting on a reply.

Ok, the first scene's sky is closer to a gradient, and I painted out the artifacts from the blur.  It isn't quite a gradient, but I like the traces of detail left in it; shouldn't be too hard to animate or anything.  But we can go to a strict gradient if you'd rather.

The second scene of the robot being nudged by the gardener just before leaving the shed needs a bit more work, but I'll still post what I got in class yesterday.  I'll add a tweaked version when I get one that's a bit more satisfactory.

(EDIT) Of course, I don't know that they need to leave the shed when it's getting much lighter out, maybe the sunrise isn't all that swift?  Might simplify the sky animation, too.
I need to make them pop more...

(Another Edit) I made the highlights on the robot more gradual again, because the smaller highlights indicated either too polished or a rougher surface than what the robot has, which is more of a matte and fairly refined surface.
I think the gardener looks better, too.  It's just guess work on the exact forms and shading though.
I'm trying to anticipate a little light from those small mounted shed lights, which is, of course, small in comparison to the natural light, even if it isn't full morning yet.

Please tell me what you think. :)

1st shot - color script tests

Ok, the first one is what I ended up with yesterday, the first scene and establishing shot.  The 2nd is a darker and further worked version, with darker shadows.  What do you think?

Color Script large tests

I sent Cade an email on Friday, I think, but haven't heard back anything, so I started working on this.  They are 720x405 (correct me if this isn't our resolution please), so I'm hoping to get a more accurate feel with these.

I'm working on it more, and will add a few more to this post as I go.  Please tell me what you think.  And Cade, is this what you meant by a stronger sky?

Please take note of how they look as thumbnails, too.  That's why I made them small.
I hope the jump between dying dawn and midmorning in the 3rd scene isn't an overly big jump.  (As far as saturation and general feel of the garden's health is concerned.)

(EDIT)  I think I got a little carried away with the one in the shed... thinking late afternoon for golden hour, maybe have some light coming through the window and hit the picture some?  There's still not much in the way of lighting there, though.
